Description:
The RFP3 VU is a pressure-compensated, 3-way flow control valve that holds a constant, adjustable flow rate to the actuator port (P), independent of pressure or inlet flow changes. Excess flow is drained to tank (T), and a built-in check valve lets return flow bypass the control orifice entirely, so it flows freely back through the valve. It's available in 3/8" and 1/2" port sizes, with a cracking pressure of 1.5 bar.
Operation: Supply flow enters at port E and is regulated to port P, which connects to the actuator or circuit branch needing controlled flow. The flow setting is adjusted by rotating the hand knob after loosening the locking nut, and the valve's pressure compensation keeps that flow steady at P even as pressure or pump output varies. Flow above the set value is diverted to tank through port T. What sets the VU version apart is its integrated reverse check valve: when flow reverses direction through the circuit, it opens at a low 1.5 bar cracking pressure and lets the return flow pass freely, bypassing the metering restriction so the actuator isn't slowed down on its return stroke.
