Operation: A direct-operated check valve functions based on a straightforward principle to control the flow of fluids in one direction. It comprises a body with an inlet and an outlet, containing a disc and a seat.
When fluid flows in the desired direction, it pushes against the movable element, lifting it away from the seat. This action permits the fluid to pass through the valve, allowing unrestricted flow.
However, if there's an attempt at reverse flow, the pressure from the fluid forces the disc against the seat, creating a seal that prevents the fluid from moving backward. This sealing action effectively blocks any reverse flow, maintaining the intended one-way flow direction.
